Ner Ner Ner Ner Ner 2006... One last word

So 3rd August came and went. The end of season dinner officially marked the end of the dragonboating year. A new year has begun. New people, new appointment holders, new challenges.

A tribute to the NUS Dragonboat ladies,
shown to the team at the end-of-season dinner,
this is what THE 'Ner Ner Ner Ner Ner' is all about....

It took me 5 teams, 8 semesters and the last 2 months to finally realize what it truly means to be in a competitive team sport. The feeling of really working together towards a common goal, to train for one another and row for every single one in the boat. I had searched all these years, waiting for IT to come. And it did eventually. Thank God… To be a graduating senior a third time round, that was the best farewell present to have ever gotten.

To the c gin nas c gin nas, thank you for showing me what raw passion for a sport is like. For reminding me why I train so hard for. To the ‘original’ c gin nas, for keeping things together and pushing so hard. And to the Old Birds, thank you thank you thank you for keeping me grounded and sane during the times I would have hurled myself into Kallang Basin and just drowned to my death. And most importantly, I cannot thank Cindy and Yirang enough for without them, none of this 2 months would have been possible.

This team was and is the most special one I’ve ever been in and it was indeed an honour to have rowed with you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you and you.

Thank you.
