FACTS FACTS!!!

There are 341, 410 more people in Norway than in Singapore.

You can fit 438 Singapores in Norway.

So each Norwegian could probably own a little plot of land and a mountain.

And all Singaporeans get is a little piece of imaginary land in the sky.

Anyhow just a feel of how much things cost here.

GST is 25% on regular items and 12% for food.

Which means you pay KR15.50 (SGD3.80) for a 1.5L of Cola
and this does not include the KR2.50 you have to pay for the recycling of the plastic bottle
so KR15.50 + KR2.50 = SGD4.50

KR27 (SGD6.70) for 12 large eggs

KR85 (SGD 21) for a movie

KR11.80 (SGD2.95) for unleaded petrol
KR11.20 (SGD2.80) for diesel

KR15 (SGD3.75) for the local paper, about the size of the TODAY paper.

(front page news: about the local government taking away the street lights in some areas mostly Gimsoy. The tentative suggested solution is for the people to pay KR550 to run each light per year. So of course the people are pissed, coz in winter, it's darkness for months! The 2 women on the front cover were over at Unni's place the other day, coz they are discussing how they are gonna fight the local government on this desicion. Wha, nothing more exciting than a little civic action man!)

KR14 (SGD3.50) for 2 bars of bathing soap

KR162 (SGD40.50) for a 6 pack 500ml of beers

~KR149-189 (SGD37-SGD47) for a CD

There you have it.

Evidently my KR1000 per week pay ain't gonna get me much candy after all...
coz 450g of Nidar chocs alone cost me KR50 (SGD12.50)

*sob*
