Random things 2

It's amazing to see what people put up for sale at online auctions...

A dragon boat in a glass display box

A gold plated dragon boat

and get this... a medal from the Singapore Dragon Boat Festival, 2001

The medal by the way is going for just $10. At the end of the day, you realise that a medal is just a piece of useless metal. As they always say... it's the journey that counts.

Ha, maybe i should sell my collection too for a quick buck when my savings run out...

Based on my experience:

1) there is always some crazy person out there who wants some stuff that you think is junk, I refer to well-known maxim that one person's trash is another person's treasure.

2) BUT at the same time, it is so not worth it to sell stuff online especially if it is stuff that doesn't have an obvious monetary value (like books, boooo). After all the cuts and charges that ebay or yahoo auctions or amazon marketplace or whatever takes from your "profit," there is hardly anything left to make the effort worth it.
